Falck was to excite a group of partners to join in investing in exploiting new business areas that arise in the relationship between the various stakeholders who are part of salvage situations. Falck was convinced that the application of holograms and remote assistance would have a major effect on several of his service areas.

Together with service designers in Sopra Steria, four situations were outlined where the application of HoloLens 2 makes sense to users and indications of business opportunities and value for the eventual investors.

The pre-project was carried out following LeanNext methodology with the phases of insight and concept development. Due to the short time and low budget of the project, the diamonds were short and high for frequent iterations on activities, rapid testing and effective decisions. The process started by mapping all the situations with detailed user journeys and ideas for the application of holograms. These were immediately tested out with HoloLens 2 in scenario games along with real users in context to confirm that they were attractive.

The project’s 0-point was defined with user journeys showing how the situations are carried out today, what challenges exist and indications of potential business opportunities that will be able to streamline processes for all stakeholders. This work is now being used to convince investors and partners to join in financing development projects, and there are already several major partners.
