At Halogen I was part of a multidisciplinary strategic project for Wonderland beds.
Wonderland Beds is one of Scandinavia’s leading manufacturers of beds and expertise in premium-class sleep. With this project, they wanted to identify the opportunity space for restructuring, innovation and new business opportunities for the future. The project was strategically important for the company and was anchored in the management, whom also was part of all workshops and activities. Premises for the innovation work were circular economy, new business models and customer orientation
For Wonderland Beds, Magne was a strategic advisor and led the project with design methodology for innovation and business development with service design as an approach. The project was run as a development project that started with mapping expertise, assets and other characteristics. Future concepts were created with sci-fi prototyping to visualize possible states where user experience, technology and circus economy were central. Ideas were combined and rationalized into 15 meaningful concepts with the associated business model, and placed into a roadmap by risk, gain and time to market. Two concepts were chosen to be further developed and tested with MVP.
Magne has had strategic design management lead in an interdisciplinary project group responsible for process, design, quality and advice to the management of Wonderland Beds. The project included specialists such as social anthropologists and business developers. Magne led three other designers who represented different aspects of design expertise.
Magne’s delivery in the project was a series of concepts on opportunities for business, two of which were chosen for further development to MVPs.
The project was strategically important for Wonderland Beds and will be an essential part of their business.
